The hardest part of drinking smoothies regularly isn't making one. It's doing it again tomorrow.
I started making smoothies every morning because I loved how simple they made it to get more nutritious ingredients into my day. But keeping the habit going was much harder than it sounded.
At home, there was the shopping, finding recipes, the prepping, the blending, and then the blender sitting in the sink. At work, it was not really an option at all - nobody is blending fruit at their desk, and going out to a smoothie bar means leaving the building, queuing, and paying a lot for it. None of it is hard on its own. It is just enough friction that you end up not bothering.
I mentioned it to my friend Shai. We met at Friendly Robotics years ago and have been friends ever since. Shai builds consumer robots - machines that have to work in people's homes, day after day, without anyone thinking about them. He had spent a career solving the problem of making a complicated machine feel effortless.
Which is, more or less, the problem with smoothies.
We had each built and sold a company before - mine was GuruShots, his was Friendly Robotics - so we knew roughly what we were getting into, and started anyway.
The result is SmooMio: a machine that blends real ingredients on demand, using frozen ingredient pods, and learns what you like to personalize every smoothie. You tap a button and it's ready. No shopping, no finding recipes, no prep, no blender to clean - just tap and drink.
We invite you to come and try it out yourself and build your own delicious smoothie habit.
